About Us
PERFECT FOR WEEKEND BREAKS
York Lodge Annexe is a self-contained, south facing, ground-floor flat with an ensuite bedroom (either two single beds or a superkingsize double bed). There is as second bedroom available by special arrangement if needed.
The living-room has a dining table, a kitchenette (fridge/freezer, sink, microwave, 2-ring hob, kettle and toaster) and a large south-facing window onto the garden.
There is a comfy sofa and a wall mounted TV. Its attractively decorated with elegant prints and chintzy double lined blinds. We are 'dog-friendly'. Travel cot and high chair available. Outside is plenty of free parking, large secure garden.
It is very quiet, on the edge of the village of Nether Wallop. Sometimes you can hear our local owl calling and we feed the birds on fat balls swinging from a branch outside the living room.
Nether Wallop contains many old thatched cottages, and has been featured in books and TV programmes as one of the prettiest villages in England.
In particular, Dane Cottage in Five Bells Lane was used as Miss Marple's home in the village of St. Mary Mead for the BBC TV adaptations of the Agatha Christie novels. The house and many of the surrounding lanes within the village were used as the setting and are commonly seen throughout many of the Miss Marple films.
For dog owners, our garden is fenced and safe. A few yards away is a footpath, perfect for quick morning/evening runs. There are numerous walks round the village and nearby are Danebury Hill Fort, Stockbridge Marsh, Broughton Down. Further afield is the New Forest.aph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.
Our Church is 11C with remains of Saxon wall paintings still visible. We are in the Test Valley between the Cathedral cilties of Salisbury and Winchester. Nearby is Stockbridge, a Georgian village renown for its individual shops and excellent pubs and restaurants. Five minutes drive away is the Museum of Army Flying. Half an hour away is Stonehenge. There are lovely gardens to visit: Mottisfont Abbey, Hilliers Gardens, Houghton Lodge. We are strategically placed for exploring Southern England.
